PTA Landscapes recently completed construction of an indoor/outdoor interactive learning space for Nido Early Learning School. The key focus of the spaces were to engage preschool aged children to learn through play and inspire creativity.
A resin bound, pebbled “water-play” river bed, complete with hand pump, runs under the bridge which leads children from the grassed area to the birch forest. Sandpits, a play kitchen and vegetable gardens are spotted throughout the space.
The planting palette was carefully chosen in close consultation with the Client. Consideration was given to texture and colour as well as the incorporation of advanced feature trees to maximise impact and give an established and welcoming look to the newly constructed outdoor space.
Selection of surfaces was also very important, various elements were included in the area; flowstone, rubber surfacing, synthetic grass and paving.
The whole outdoor area, including the earthworks and sub base preparation, was constructed by the PTA Landscapes team.
“To see the look of enjoyment on the children’s faces when they are in the space is very rewarding for the team that built the project. This is one of the main reasons we take delight in completing projects of this nature.”Andrew Wilson, PTA Landscapes’ Director
